Just a quick note to let you all know that the F.O.M. have been busy over the last few weeks planning some great events for the Winter term.
Specific details of each event (and events for 2009) will be sent out nearer the time but we thought it a good idea to let you know what is coming up. So get your diaries/organisers out ready!!!
1. Parents Cheese & Wine Evening Friday 17 October 2008
A notice is already up about this but it will be a free event for parents (including new parents to the school), carers, grandparents and guardians which will be held in the dining room from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
2. Spooky Night Wednesday 22 October 2008
Following its success last year we have decided to do it again. There will be refreshments (mulled wine, hot chocolate and soft drinks) and hot dogs and food stalls (dangling doughnuts, apple bobbing, sweet kebabs) in the dining room, other stalls in the gym (including spooky tunnels, spider games and light sticks) and face painting and spooky stories in Kindergarten. This event will start at 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm and Juniors will be able to get out of prep at 5.00 pm so they can get ready. Entrance will be £1 per child and there will also be fancy dress, spooky hats and spooky masks competitions for each class.
3. Quiz Night Saturday 15 November 2008 8.00 pm
Another successful event. This is for adults only. Teams up to a maximum of 10 and open to Non-Mead people too. Even if you do not have a team turn up on the night and you will be teamed up. There will be a chilli supper and a pay bar. Prizes for the winning team. Ticket prices will be £10.
4. Christmas Fayre Saturday 6 December 2008 12.00 2.00 pm
All of the usual fun activities and stalls will be there including the Christmas hamper raffle!
I hope that this has whetted your appetite. Your Class Reps will be approaching people to volunteer to spend a bit of time running stalls and if you wish to volunteer your help please do not hesitate to contact me in Mrs Morgans room during the week.
