At The Mead School, we within Kindergarten believe that the foundation years are of primary importance and a child’s first experiences of school life make an indelible impression.

            In the Kindergarten, security, self confidence, sociability and success are our aims for every child.  We foster social skills and prepare a loving but disciplined environment in which learning is fun.  Our Kindergarten provides many opportunities for creative self-expression during which we continually reinforce the development of language skills and literacy, including fluency and phonic awareness through topic work, art and music.

We develop an understanding of mathematical concepts through practical experience and experimentation.  During these sessions the children enjoy an introduction to Science and Technology.  French conversation, PE, swimming, judo and ballet are specialist taught and included in our structured timetable.  All these activities and experiences combine to prepare the child for a happy and smooth transition into the Infant School.
