Teachers chose a variety of themes and topics to excite the pupils' imaginations.
ISI Inspection Report, June 2014
The school has a very strong Parent Association, Friends of the Mead, to which all parents automatically belong. The committee organises fund raising and social events throughout the year. If you would like to become a committee member or would just like to help, you will be made extremely welcome.

Latest FoM News:
(From Newsletter - 11/1/19)
Welcome back and happy new year to you all. We hope you had a wonderful festive break. FoM had our first Committee meeting of the year yesterday with Mr Webster to discuss our ideas for 2019 and are looking forward to an exciting year of fun events.
Following our Winter Fayre we have placed an order for the new 3D printer for the STEAM department and it will be delivered by the end of next week. Mrs Wilson already has a lot of plans for its use with the children and is very excited for its arrival. We are currently in negotiations with a couple of suppliers for the gymnastics equipment (springboard and vault) and the order for these items will be placed next week. We have also purchased two basketball posts (for the new basketball club) due to the great success of the Fayre. These items are going to result in an amazing addition to our sports department.
Our first FoM event in 2019 will be a Quiz Night, which will be held at school on Saturday 9th February, starting at 7.30pm. We will be selling tickets in reception on Thursday and Friday (8.15-8.45am & 5.30-5.45pm) next week. The event will be held in the dining room and tickets will cost £5 per person. A team will consist of a maximum of 8 people. It is bring your own booze and snacks but a cheeseboard will be provided at half time. We wanted to stress that this event is not a fundraiser and is instead being renamed as a ‘joyraiser’! As well as the quiz, there will be a few rounds of heads and tails and prizes for both this and the quiz winning team and best named team. Due to the size of the dining room we are limited to ten teams, so tickets will sold on a first come, first served basis. Please bring correct change or cheques made payable to Friends of The Mead when you buy your tickets next week.
There will be another ‘joyraiser’, this time for the children, in the form of a "Laser Light Show & Glow Disco" on the last Friday morning of term (15th February). There will be more information to follow on this, but children will be allowed to wear their own clothes and we ask for a donation of £2 per child to cover the costs of the disco.
Lastly, we thought it was important that FoM had its own identity, so we now have our own logo which will be used on all communication and flyers from now on. We hope you like it (see below)! We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it at our next FoM meeting on Wednesday 16th January at 8.30 am in the dining room, where we will be discussing future events and fundraising projects. Once again, all your support is much appreciated.
Letter from FOM Committee, 14/12/18:
The FoM Commitee would like to call a special General Meeting to be held alongside our usual monthly General Meeting on 16 January 2019 at 8.30am in the school dining room. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on adopting a new FoM Constitution and Rules. The current constitution was established and ratified in 1997. In order to reflect changes to the law and practice, and what we want FoM to achieve, we propose adopting a constitution and rules adapted from the Model Constitution found on ParentKind (www.parentkind.org.uk). The new constitution wording is accepted by the Charity Commission for England & Wales.
Further to clause 16a) of our current constitution, please receive this as notice of intention to alter the FoM constitution and rules.
